2003 chevy avalanche says drivers door ajar but it's not and interior light stays on and power to ther door goes on and off

It's either two two things. The latch assembly needs to be replaced or it's your BCM .

SOURCE: Rear passenger door ajar problem

I had the same problem, it was the body computer located under the steering collum. The bad news is if you get a used one it must be reprogramed for your antitheaf features.A new one from the dealer is 310.00 and you can expect labor charges to be about the same.

check the lil switch that'll be located on the latch anchor point or within a few inches of it.... odd is the switch is faulty

SOURCE: "Door Ajar" light won't go off. Interior lights staying on.

I sprayed WD40 in the handle opening and moved it up and down a few times and sprayed some in the latch and it went away.

SOURCE: interior lights won't go off while driving.trunk lid says ajar but it's not

check this latch mechanism for the switch to be broken of out of adjustment somehow there is a pressure switch back there that may be bad or broke it is near the lactch or on a corner as a black push in button usually....

Interior lights, lights on rearview mirrow aren't shutting off.

Spray some WD40 into the latches on the side of the doors then open and close the doors several times firmly.This will unstick the door adjar switch most of the time.Start with drivers door first.

2003 Explorer door ajar light stay on when all doors are closed

I had this problem on my 2003 explorer and took WD40 and gave the lock mechanism a good dose where it meets the clasp on the door jam. Then open and close the doors a couple of times to get them working. They get gummed up and sometimes have a tendency to stick.
