Oil pressure checked - good, oil pressure sensor replaced, engine regularly serviced. Even with the oil pressure switch disconnected, the warning light flickers intermittently. What next?

Since you are going to check the one way valve and cleaning the filter too, I would recommend to check the intake air filter and clean it throughly. After that use carb cleaner to free up the nozzles of the injector valve . If the engine sound better after using carb cleaner, add some into the fuel from the fuel filter or pump, whichever one has easy access, and gun your engine in short bursts, after which it should run better.........sodeep

most definitely the cylinder head gasket is gone.the oil does not just disappear,it finds its way to the radiator,i.e. mixes with the water.unplug the rediator cap with care(when the engine is cold)and u will see some kind of sludge, creamy colour, which confirms that the cylinder head gasket is burnt.u need an engineer to do the job for u.
Testimonial: "thanks for that - I suspected as much but confirmation is very helpful"

The best way to attack this is to have your oil pressure checked. That would rule out a pump problem or the sender issue. If you want the least expensive fix is to just replace the oil pressure sender yourself and then see if the problem goes away. You can also add a thicker oil when you change the oil to see if that solves the problem. A 10W30 oil is thinner than a 10W50. If this helps then the engine or pump may be worn or failing. I hope the cheap fix helps!!
