Replace the ignition control module,I recommend a new one,if you order a rebuilt dist.it comes with a used one that only passed cold temp bench test they usually have problems once the car warms up. so get a new one!good luch let me know if you need more info have a good day DB

maybe I misunderstood you sorry about that.I thought the car was atleast cranking over but you make it sound like it is NOT cranking? am I icorrect/ have a good day DB

ok now that its all clear,so its safe to say that the battery and cables are good?so....if you have a volt meter at the starter there are 2 wires a Batt feed and a signal from the ign switch,so when you crank it are you getting voltage at the little wire?should be,are you reading voltage at the big wire?should be constant 12 v or so,you can also buy a cheap remote starter button, leave the key on ,hook up the remote at the starter and try it if it fires up you possibly have a bad fuse or ignition switch, the good thinh is on hondas you can buy just the back part of the switch cause thats all that fails and its easy to replace so hope I helped let me know have a good day DB

Same thing happened to my 1989 honda crx.. Car will crank but not fully turn on and dashboard lights and headlights where on.. The issue was the Ignition Rotor Screw was lose and wasn't spinning the Ignition Rotor that makes contact with the distributor cap.. Once the screw was tighten, car cranked over and turn on.. Hope this helps..

94 chevy s10 4.3 litre engine wont start. Its getting fuel and spark. pretty much everything is new. sometimes after a while i can get it to run. when it does i can drive it anywhere and its starts ri

might pull that cap again and see if the dist. shaft is loose
(side to side play) Sometimes the bushing wears out and the
magnet will hit the pickup, makes the spark irratic.Should have a new rotor with the cap, they also go bad.

New plugs, new dist cap,new coil new ign. control module new fuel filter ,wont start

Fuel system checked? If OK, did you "reset" the ECC also called the ECM or PCM which is the computer of the vehicle? Do it by unhooking "both" battery cables, waiting 15 minutes, rehook then try to start and see if this helps. If not you may have to start on the ground floor by checking all fuses, crank and cam sensors, ICM, etc.

I HAVE A 1988 CHEVY VAN G20 5.7 I CHECKED TIMEING CHAIN NEW PLUGS,PLUG WIRES,DIST CAP, ROTOR,COIL,FLUSHED FUEL TANK,NEW FUEL PUMP AND FILTER I HAVE GOOD FUEL PRESSURE,GOOD COMPRESSION,THE PROBLEM IS SPARK,...

1/ Have you fitted the spark plug leads in the proper firing order.
2/ Look inside the top of distributor Top (this is not the first time a new distributer cap has very small crack) or the rotor arm is fitting the cap properly. Hope this helps Best Wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

No start on old gasoline forklift engine.

most likely the ign switch is ok if you are getting spark. so you have a hot spark at coil and weak fire at plugs? if you have a test light check the positive side of coil for power when turning key on and cranking. if it is dropping power on positive side then ign switch could be bad. can "hotwire" coil by jumping a wire to positive side of coil to pos of battery this will eliminate ign switch.

Engine turns over but won't start / 1995 F-150

Sounds alot like the ignition sensor. In my old Chevys it was under the dist cap, mounted on the dist itself. Mine was flat, slightly curved rectangle shape, with two flat prongs coming out both sides. If it would get an internal break in it, you cant see it. I would have the same problem as you, part was only about $12. And comes out with unscrewing two screws.
Might want to give it a shot.

The distributor not firing

tap lightly on dist. not on cap while someone cranks motor,be careful of moving parts,if it starts change ign. module in dist. if not check cap rotor, coil and power to ign.module,if theres power to module my bet would be on ign. mod
