Might be due for a transmission oil replacement.

SOURCE: 1995 honda civic, while driving engine gets hot & cold?

I used to have this problem too on my 95 Honda Civic EX. It would get hot then it would cool down when I stopped. I replaced the thermostat and it took care of the problem. I am not a mechanic but it was real easy to change out. I bought it at Auto Zone and they even gave instructions on how to replace it. Also don't forget to buy the new seal for it. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My 1990 Honda Civic will not shift above second gear.

is it a manual or automatic...if its a manual you probably forgot to hook up the shift linkage..if its a manual..you probably didnt put the shifter cable from the shifter on top right, so itll pull the gears when you if in and out on to or back and forth..look and see if the cable has too much slack..that hooks up to the transmission(automatic)....

1999 honda civic transmission slow when hot replaced everything but transmission and works great till it gets hot about 5 miles

hot oil is thinner, ATF. cold works better, CLASSIC case.
my guess ,si the mean A;T pump pressure falls like a rock hot.
in all cars, FSM
all cars have these pages. that are on car tests for A;/T
(sure check all fuse...all time ,every time)
1: stall tests. on car, parked, running, test. brakes set hard.
yours i bet will fails this hot.
2; pump tests. (pressure guage)
id bet yours fails test 2 too.
and means...... its bad. the box is bad.
RTM read the FSM. do the simple test, and bingo.

the stall test takes no tools (if you have a tachometer) if not get one.

My 1998 Honda civic ex won't move but the motor

Have you just replaced the clutch? Taken out the transaxle, and put it back in? Are you sure transmission was in good condition before this? If so, review your procedure carefully to be sure you got it all back right.
Watch the slave cylinder while someone depresses clutch. You should see the little plunger move slightly out and move the clutch lever back. The lever moves the release bearing inside bell housing into contact with the pressure plate. If slave cylinder doesn't move at all, try bleeding again. The plunger has to move when clutch is engaged.
I'm not sure what you mean by "will shift but won't go into gear". You mean it's actually going into a gear position and car won't move? Or it won't go into any gear, period. As if you had no clutch?

1991 Honda Civic DX Why am I able to push the car with automatic transmission while it's in park? The car won't start and run, either.

If the car rolls with the shifter in the park position and the starter will not engage the engine than the transmission is not in park. This could be caused by a bad shift cable. In order to confirm this you will need to find the area where the shift cable attaches to the transmission. While a helper runs the shifter through the gears check the linkage at the transmission to see if it is moving. If the linkage is not moving that there is a problem with the shift cable or the shifter. Some disassembly of the center council may be necessary to gain access to the area where the shift cable attaches to the shifter to see if it is still attached to the shifter. If it is and the shifter is moving the cable than the cable will need to be replaced. If the cable is moving the linkage at the trans than there is probably something wrong internally inside of the transmission. If you have any questions or need further help I will be happy to do what I can!
