I get fuel up to the Fuel Meter Body, but the engine will not fire unless I spray starter fluid into the throttle body then only runs on what I spray into it.
I don t know the pressure I disconnected the fuel line at the Fuel Meter body and ran a tube to a gas can and had lots of gas pumpingI don t know the pressure I disconnected the fuel line at the Fuel Meter body and ran a tube to a gas can and had lots of gas pumping
I drive the truck daily, the gas I use is from chevron. I am going to hook up to a computer later today. I should get a code that will help. I will also try to get a fuel pressure gauge.I drive the truck daily, the gas I use is from chevron. I am going to hook up to a computer later today. I should get a code that will help. I tested the fuel pressure and it was barely 10 lbs. I have changed the fuel filter. Would that indicate a fuel pump issue?I tested the fuel pressure and it was barely 10 lbs. I have changed the fuel filter. Would that indicate a fuel pump issue?
Do you have correct fuel pressure? Has the truck been sitting or did you fill up recently and get bad gas?Do you have correct fuel pressure? Has the truck been sitting or did you fill up recently and get bad gas?

This sounds like a fuel delivery issue. The fact that the engine starts and runs when you add starter fluid suggests that there is a problem with the fuel pump or the fuel pressure. It could also be a problem with the fuel filter or the fuel injectors. It would be best to have a mechanic diagnose and fix the issue.
You'll first need to determine whether it's a fuel delivery or ignition problem. The quick way is to remove the air intake at the throttle body and spray a 2 second burst of starter fluid directly into the throttle body and promptly start.
If it fires and runs for a few seconds then it's a no fuel issue. If no fire, then more likely it's a no spark, so pull a plug wire and check for spark.
CAUTION - Be careful when using volatile fluids like starter fluid in the open as they are flammable and may start a fire; having a fire exstinguisher present is a good idea.
Pull back a small part of the boot just in front of the throttle body, open the throttle all the way up and spray about 3 seconds of starter fluid inside the manifold. Push the boot back in place and attempt to start it. If it starts or attempts to start but shuts back off, it has fuel supply issues which could be the injectors, wiring, the ecm, the fuel pump or other related electronics.
Check for fuel by pouring small amount of clean gas down throttle body and crank engine over. if it starts and runs just for a few seconds you have a fuel delivery problem
maybe you have a throttle plate that is getting sticky try and buy a can of throttle body cleaner shoot it down the throttle body and clean it out while running just dont spray too much chance fire but this should help it if not check the throttle linkage
the injectors are fired thru the engine cotrol module but it gets its signal to fire from the pick-up located inside the distributor if you are loosing injector pulse only the ignition module is bad if you are also loosing spark when you loose injector pulse your pick up is causing the problem if you replace the pick-up i recomend you change the ignition module when doing so because they work together and you have to remove the distributor to change the pick-up
