2001 Jetta winshield wiper arm spring

I was replacing my windshield wiper blades and when I pulled the arm to the up position the spring that holds it snug against the window snapped and flew off. I am having trouble finding just the spring...any suggestions? Thank you very much.

Yes, start calling junk yards for the whole wiper arm or order the arm at your vw dealer, you will not find just the spring. Good Luck

Why does my new winshield wiper not clear the winshield completely?

Try replacing the arm also. There might not be enough tension in the arm pushing on the blade.

Can't get wiper blade arms off. need replaced

lift the arm away from the windshield. if the tension spring is damaged or broken, the arm will not show

resistance. if it is working properly, then pull the arm back until the hinge locks in a verticle position.

remove the retaining nut at the bottom of the windshield wiper arm and pull the wiper arm off.

slide the new wiper assembly on.

tighten the retaining nut and lower the arm back down to the windshield. you will need a wrench and

socket set. good luck!

How do I change wiper blades 2001 Chevy blazer

Open the cap at the end of the windshield wiper arm at the cowl of the Blazer. This will reveal the bolt that secures the wiper arm to the wiper linkage.
Unbolt the wiper arm using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Place the bolt to the side, as you will reuse it later.
Pull the wiper arm up at the blade so that the blade of the wiper is pointing into the air. Then pull at the base of the arm, wiggling it slightly. It's a keyed gear, so it may take a little bit of workunderlined.png?1 to break it free, but with the right amount of wiggling, it will disengage.

My back windshield wiper doesn't wipe the length of the blade. I've had the blade replaced twice with a more expensive blade. What's next?

Get a replacement tension spring from the dealer. This spring is visible when you flip the wiper arm into the up position. Seems as though your tension spring may be weak which will cause poor wiping performance.

You will have to remove the wiper arm to replace it as it has to be installed in the down position..

How do I change wiper blades on a Ford 500

This is a fairly simple job.
#1 Pull the wiper arm away from the vehicle.
#2 Turn the blade 90 degrees so that the blade and the arm make a 'capital T' shape.
#3 Pull the blade straight off of the arm.
#4 Install the new wiper blade so that it forms a ' T ' with the arm.
#5 Turn the blade back to the normal position in line with the arm.
#6 Ease the wiper arm and blade back against the windshield.
#7 You are done. Good luck

1993 jeep cherokee country series--replace windshield wipers

Are trying to remove the blade or the arms?

The arms are released by holding the wiper blade fully extended away from the winshield and wiggle the arms off.

The blades are removed by a little tab where the blade hooks to the arm, using a small screwdriver push down on tab,and slide blade off arm but do not let arm slap windshield as it could crack it,I have seen people pull and the blades suddenly come off and the arm slaps down, yor can put a towel or cloth down where the arm sits against the windshield to prevent the possibilty of the arm slapping down.

Windshield wiper would not return to origi position

I had the same problem in my LW200. As the other poster indicated a new wiper motor will do the trick. This is an easy fix. Remove the wiper arms, pry up the plastic center cap and remove the nuts holding the arms down then pull them off. A soft prying nudge from underneath will help as they are splined shafts. Raise the hood, put a large deep well socket on over the splined shafts and remove the 2 large nuts holding the trim panel on. Pull up and off the long rubber which runs along the front of the trim panel, watch there is a sharp edge underneath. Now you can gently pull off the trim panel, remembering to lift it over the splined shafts. Mechanism is right there, remove 3 screws and unplug wiring. Take wiper motor off the linkage swap with a new one at advance auto, about 100 bucks, reinstall in reverse order. Note there is a stamping on the linkage telling you where the pivot arm should be for the rest or stopped position and if you ignore that your wipers will be out of whack. While you are in there you may want to change the cabin air filter as well.
