The spout is located in the front left (drivers) side of the engine compartment. Below is a picture of it's location (marked with a red arrow). Also below is a picture of the spout connector itself. Your timing is not adjustable but per specs, with the shorting bar removed on the connector you should be running at 10 degrees before top dead center (BTDC) Hope this helps.....

Yes, Fords have PATS system, which is what controlls your keyless entry. It is the computer for your key fobs and keyless entry. You might have tripped itby accident, and your only solution is to take it to a dealership or someone who has Fords reprogrammimg computer to have it reflashed.

Where is the spout connector located on Ford Ranger 1987 2.3L 4 cylinder. and what does it look like.

Hello pennockgaryc: My name is Roger and I will help you. The spout connector will be taped to the wire harness that goes to the distributor module. Will be either grey or black and will be rectangular . This will be a plug that the wire only go to one side. One of the wire that go to the spout connector should be yellow with a dark green tracer. Just pull on the plug and it should pull apart. Set timing to specs of 10 degrees. Reinstall the spout connector and you should be good to go. I tried to send a picture but it was to big for this program. I hope this will be useful. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

How to set timing for a 89 ford ranger

there is a spout connector flat square gray in color located in the area of the distributor of lying on the intake taped to the wiring harness.there is a two wire plug(called the spout) that has a flat cap that is removable.with the engine running pull the cap out of the spout and with your timing light attached check the timing marks and ensure it is timed correctly.if not loosen the distributor hold down bolt and move the distributor until the timing is set.turn off the engine reconnect the spout cap and ensure the check light is off.

What is an incline spout connection. Its supposed to have something to do with the timing on a 1989 ford Ranger xlt ,2.8 dual 4 Cycinder extended cab

The "Inline Spout Connector" is used to control the engine timing by dis-connecting the timing control from the timing control unit, and you must remove the inline spout connector before you can change or set the ignition timing, and if the inline spout connector is missing, then the engine timing will not be controlled by the dura-spark control unit, the check engine light should be on, and the engine will perform poorly. Usually it is located out by the distributor or over by the dura spark control unit.

It is normally a small squared looking grey plastic thing that should be in the end of a wire connector, and that is the only thing that will on the end of that wire connector, and it is basically just a jumper plug. Here is a similar image of what you should be looking for.

Ok kinda dumb question

Yes, you will. I forgot to tell you that you'll have to remove the spout connector to adjust the timing. It's like remove the vacuum hose on an early style distributor. If you're unable to locate the spout connector, you can still re-set the timing. It's not a big deal. The timing pointer is located on the pass. side front of the engine.
