There is no way of knowing. It is possible that the seal that was used to replace the original was not quite correct for some reason. Really ya just don't know.

SOURCE: I have a jaguar xj8 and the gear got stuck in park.

Most likely the lock out switch at the brake pedal is at fault, because in order to put it in in to any gear you have to step on the brake first ! Their is a switch located which prevents you put it in gear with out stepping on the brake pedal, so check this switch first.

SOURCE: How do I pair my bluetooth phone to my 2006 Jaguar

Have you contacted jaguar to be sure the car is wired?
Just because there is a phone symbol on the stereo means nothing.
They all have that.
Go to Jaguars web site and email them with you cars VIN number and ask if the car has been prewired.
they will get back to you in about in 2 days and let you know.
If it has been prewired you can get it set up for a price, if not, you are out of luck.

Security is set. Could be one problem. Fuel system can do this, but rarely. Takes a scanner to see where to look first.

We just bought a 2006 Highlander with 60,000 miles +/- Need to know what should have been done as far as reg. maintanace, nothing seems to be wrong in fact we have no inmidiate concerns, but would like to...

There is not a lot due at 60,000 miles as far as regular maintenance. Depending on which engine you have, a timing belt replacement is due at 90,000 miles. (The 2.4L engine is chain-driven) Spark plug replacements are not due until 80,000 miles.

In the meantime, I would have the condition of the engine coolant checked. It should be checked for the freeze protection level as well as the acidity level. Chemical test strips are available at your local parts store for this purpose.

All fluids should be checked for proper levels inlcluding differentials and transfer cases if it is a 4X4. Check and fix any fluid leaks right away. Fluid leaks can lead to rapid deterioration of rubber mounts and hoses as well as damage wiring harnesses and computer sensors.

If the battery is original it should probably be replaced due to the age of the vehicle. If it is not original I would have it tested. Remember NOTHING works on your vehicle without the battery.

I was told today that the front and rear differential seals, as well as a transfer case output seal were leaking on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Diesel. This truch has about 70,000 miles on it, but...

These are such easy seals to do, why bother trying to save a few bucks?
But seals also are suppose to leak, so that they are self lubricating. As long as you don't have a problem keeping the differetials fulled, don't worry about it.
Each seal is less then $75. But you can do yourself in less then an hour apiece, for $5.

Crankshaft seal blows out oil leak

The fix is replacement of motor!! I have the same problem and have already paid $700 in repairs to fix seal just to find out that the seal is being knocked out by loose crank shaft..Car had 60000 miles when I bought it 4 months ago, from a dealership, and now it needs a motor replacement..I stiil owe $5000 on a car that is worth $0..Dodge did not give the 100000 mile warranty they love to advertise on TV for the '06 Stratus..They only gave 36000 warranty because they did not think it would last much longer..Will never buy Chrysler product again!! They do not stand behind what they sell or they would have 100000 mile warranty on all their cars..

2003 rear differential

I am a Ford tech and the diff doesn't need to be serviced (new lube) unless it is torn down or it has a leak, however it is my opinion that under heavy usage such as towing it should be serviced at around 60,000.
