Get a rebuilt or used transmission. Jaguar says you don't have to change trans fluid because it should last the "life of the trans" which means it will die just like everything else. Fluid change will do no good. I just went thru this.

if you have an idea how to do the checking..., It is better check the transmission for any leak, you may change & add more fluid into it. but if the problem goes on again, it was better to send it out into a mechanic...

I've had the same problem on my 2001. It turned out to be the battery. Apparently the voltage had dropped to the point that the computer began to malfunction. I'd first go to a battery shop and have it checked under load before looking for other solutions.

SOURCE: Dashboard Instrument cluster does not work.

there are 2 large terminal plugs with the wiring for all the instruments that are plugged into the back of that panel. make sure they are snug and in place. You reach in and under but it may easier to "simply" remove the cluster. 4 screws hold it in place accessible form underneath and with a long phillips screwdriver and lighting.

SOURCE: How do i disable valet mode om a 98 jaguar vanden

Try inserting the key into the drivers door lock and try centrally locking and unlocking all the doors a few times. If this does not reset the valet function try using the key in the drivers door lock and pressing the fob at the same time as locking and unlocking the doors. Even with valet mode engaged you should be able to access the trunk by physically inserting the key into the trunk lock.

Testimonial: "it was really helpful and the trunk yea i was able to open with the key but it still doesn't remove the valet all is doing is not keep sunroof open "

Jaguar transmission problems

Depends in the mileage since the transmission was last serviced. It sounds like low pressure from the pump. It could be just a filter. You did not say where the leaking seal is, but a leaking seal will not fix itself.

I HAVE A 1989 JAGUAR VANDEN PLAS DRIVEING FOWARD IT WORK PERFECT . NO REVERSE. PLEASE HELP UOT OF WORK

Your going to have to have the transmission checked and repaired. There is a pin inside the transmission that can only be accessed when it is dis-assembled and that has sheared off or there solenoid has faulted inside the transmission. I know this is not good news but that is the truth of the matter.
