My heat doesn't work. I replaced the water pump, timing belt, thermostat and timing belt tensioner but still no heat. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

if this helps.. I had the 1998 model S70. the water pump was driven by the timing belt. you had to take the timing belt off just to replace the water pump. it was just a simple bolt on replacement. the only difficult issue is resetting the hydraulic tensioner on the timing belt. the hydraulic tensioner has to be completely taken off and compressed VERY SLOWLY in a vise. then insert a very hard drill bit or (special volvo tool) into a keeper hole, reinstall hydraulic tensioner onto car and reinstall timing belt.very quickly remove drill bit from keeper hole in tensioner and the tensioner snaps back out to put tension on belt. and you are done.

What about it??
I wouldn't try it if you don't know how, (specially if this is what is known as an interference engine). Valve timing is *very* delicate and stray pistons love to chew them up!

yes,the water pump should have been changed at the same time,BUT,and i keep saying this to all my customers,no garage will do any work that you, the client, dont ask for and if they reccomend it they are trying to rip you off.the original repairperson is not at fault in any way,as you cant see inside the pump to decide when its going to fail.....not what you wanted to hear ,but true.
best advice.is find a good mech and follow him/her around, that way it becomes personal.

Something has been detected by your engine management computer. The next step is to pull the error codes, with a scanner, and pursue those results.

Hi,
Check the ventilation fins in the passenger side, it might have been stuck to "close", even when the knob/switch says "open"!
The other one would be the ventilation duct might have loosen from the A/C evaporator/blower box!
If you have a hard time and no time tinker, let a service garage do that for you!
Hope that helps you out!
