My 91 toyota supra has some kind of overheating issue. I just had the radiator repaired and took it for a long hour drive, half an hour into it, the temp guage starts creeping up. Its fine around town but...

The big issue with these supras(I have one) is that the head gasket blows. Check for any white smoke from tailpipe or bubbling in the coolant overflow tank, or rough starting, those are signs i've had. I've also had trouble with my radiator/overheating, so doesn't hurt to double check that. Supraforums.com and Supramania.com are great sites too. If you ever redo the headgasket, do it right, that means quality headgasket, Felpro, or even better, metal headgasket, inspect/resurface the surfaces, and 75 to 80 lbs or torque on those headbolts.

Head gasket repair

You are going to need a repair manual for your Supra before you start. I have one in my shop right now for another problem and I took a look under the hood. I wouldn't try it without one. The manual will give you the step by step with pictures.

1990 supra steering rack

There are seals that can be replaced, but if it is noticeably leaking, then you are likely going to need to replace the rack. It can be time consuming but it is well worth it. Replacement racks can be found either in other Supra's or you can find rebuilt ones online, those, however, usually require you to send yours in.
