Locating the starter

which engine? J20, H25, H27. (all 3 same)
see that battery cable, see the plus cable, it goes to the starter.
the starter engages the flywheel, so is there, near the flywheel ring gear. and will be on the left or right side of all engines.
the V6 is right

as are, j20 and G16 are same. place.

right side means, sitting in drivers seat, right is right.

is it dead, ?
or want to do tests and cant find it?

Try the driver side fender mounted inside the L-shaped bracket supporting the carbon cannister

your starter will be located near the oil pan on the back side of the engine near the trans if u still cannot locate it follow the battery cable down to where it bolts on the starter

Hi, the actual starter motor is located at the rear of the engine on the bottom. It's on the driver's side, right near the exhaust.

If you will follow the RED battery cable to the other end, it ends at the starter.

To find the starter on nearly every engine, follow the positive battery cable and it will lead you directly to it.

The starter should be located under the exhaust manifold on the front of engine. Since it is a front wheel drive, the front of engine is the side near radiator. Slide under front end and look up. That is where it should be located.

UNDER THE CAR NEAR OIL PAN LOOK FOR A LONG ELECTRIC MOTOR ATTACHED TO BOTTOM SIDE OF ENGINE.THE STARTER HOUSING IS NEXT TO FLY WHEEL.YOU CANT MISS IT.

The starter is located beneith the engine, near the transaxle and it is attatched to the engine by 3 bolts. You need to disconnect the battery, raise the car to get at it. The 3.3 and 3.5 engines take different starters. Rick
