All the bearings for the rear diff are pressed off and on, they can be done at home if u have a high quality bearing puller, but to press them on should be done at the machine shop.

On my 2004 mercury mountaineer if anyone knows what size socket fits the rear axle nut let me know I have been told a 36 mm but it seems like it's a little too big for the nut

36mm is the consensus of opinion, but in reality, it is the socket that 'FITS'! Most socket sets come in metric and imperial, you use that one that is the best fit.

Transmission install 89 ford ranger

You should be able to rent a spline alignment tool from the parts house where you got transmission. I'm assuming you have a manual transmission so the clutch pad doesn't want to cooperate? I think even with an automatic it's much the same.

Low oil pressure on guage of my 89 ford ranger 6 cylinder

Could be low oil level, a bad sending unit, or actually low oil pressure due to a worn oil pump or worn bearings.

Will '89 Ranger leaf springs fit a '99 Ford Ranger 4x4?

Measure the distance from bolt to bolt, and to the center. If they match then, they match, if not you will have to check the numbers with fords tolerances to avoid an axle wrap. But it should fit, maybe just a little stiffer of a suspension from the 4x4.

I paid for an answer about my 89 ford ranger drive shaft and did not get one. Can I get my money back or do I need to contact Pay-Pal??

To replace the centre bearing you first remove driveshaft from vehicle.
Pull the shaft apart at the middle universal joint.
On the back of the section that has the centre bearing you will see a nut that holds the uni ears onto the shaft.
Undo the nut and remove the ears. Then press the centre bearing off the shaft and reassemble with new one.
Hope this is more helpful.
