Check for fuel, spark and compression. these are the only things needed for a engine to run

2005 Nissan frontier Nismo v6 4x4

REDUX 1.
NOW KNOWn THE BATTERY IS NEW, but long sessions of CRANKING will make it dead (discharged)
and that you use the wrong words for engines
I guess petrol engine not diesel.
is this auto transmission or manual "STICK"

I think you just used the word CRANK for RUN
that makes sure all my answers will be wrong, for sure doing that.
here is what happens on modern cars.

1key on.
2: immo lamp very angry not happy engine is immoblized next.
3: key turned to ST (start) this means cranking the engine with a stater motor.
4: the engine starts, (and dies 3 seconds if IMMO is not happy< can be look at lamp IMMO)
5: engine runs now, and
6: engine stays running, and does not stall if does stall now say the stall word.

there are 50- reason for engines to stall. and a box of tools gauges, in my kit to find them all and not one do you have. nor how to.(find a shop get the car fixed,)!

if that starter motor is silent say so, or if it clicks or chatters say so.or makes huge BANG spins super fast but engine crank shaft does not turn(see all the ways starters can fail, hint , lots and I can not hear yours.

if starter fails dead then shift PNRDL from park to Neutral and crank the starter in N. (cured?)
key on, CEL glows normal and IMMO not happy can glow.
key on does IP cluster self tests and most lamps there go dead after the key on self test., not all.
modern cars are smarter mine cuts dead all lamps for faster better cranking power, 300amps from battery to starter motor , none wasted on lamps for sure head lamps on my car are disabled cranking,(mine)
what matters is
all fuses good
starter motor aways works.
engine starts
and engine runs and stays running.
and now running the CEL lamp does not glow or worse flash.
tachometer works
shifted to drive does not stall the engine,
car moves, if all is well the the transmission upshifts, 1,2,3,4, etc.

if fails scan he PCM first.

2012 Ford Territory diesel starts for a second then dies straight away, the dashboard and ICC are not illuminated

bad fuses is first (done) good.
head lamps work key off and ON?
glow plugs dead?

what means cranks
not even cranking at all
the starter motor DC spins called cranking
then starter motor cranks the crank shaft fast. if does the engine starts if fuel is there and glow plugs not dead.
do not use the word crank for start.
starts and runs and sustains running is what matters
if the starter fails that is simple causes, not like dead engines and 50 causes see?

the starter will not spin if
battery dead or weak or 4 lug ends loose or rusty
starter relay not bad.
PRNDL switch (A./T box) fails in park we next crank it in Neutral

I fail to understand this line
"after trying a few times it's not even cranking at all.? starter motor dead? try to more clear ,?
starter RPM is near 300 on most cars/trucks. 500cca or more.
starters do all these things, for sure, failing: below:
GRRRRRRGGRRRR good sound.,,NORMAL:
dead silent starter. but relay may click or not.
clicks its solenoid , weakly , nothing else happens.
chatters the solenoid but cranks shaft dead. 8v at battery caused.
loud bang!, starter sound on seized engine, or starter shims wrong.(if)
or starter itself is pure Seized, up.
starter spins crazy fast, not crankshaft at all
caused by bad starter drive gear & its mate, flywheel ring gear
even a dirty starter drive pinion jammed up in gunk there. can not slide fully.
starter is slow, as is crank shaft bad battery or bad starter, yes starters can fail and be weak, or 100% intermittent, same as PRNDL or relay

if starter motor ever fails on any car (not sinkn hondas)
the next step is crank in neutral foot on brake.
PRNDL, the P switch fails first and the N, mostly not.
all tow truck drivers know this.
and use jumper cables to prove battery is not droppng low.
under load, below 10vdc cranked is not good as computers can go off line below that ending fueling.
Solenoid main chatters at 8vdc., spec on them actual. and me testing them.

see this gem of voltage plot in time,
scope view or GDMM
see the 10volts there? this drop is battery cell resistance only
normal.

98 PLYMOUTH VOYAGER 3.3 MPI ENGINE DIED AT 60 MPH ON HWY, FUEL PUMP CYCLES WITH KEY,TRIED TO START WITH SHOT OF STARTER FLUID, BUT SPUTTERED/ MISFIRE SOUNDING COIL PAC, BATTERY OK,ACTS LIKE NO FUEL,OR BAD...

I would start by checking fuel pressure to the fuel rail. Just because the pump is running, does not mean that it has enough pressure to fire the injectors. You should have over 40# at the rail.

2005 Accord Coupe V6

sounds like the solenoid on your starter is faulty to me.

Personally, to test this, I would run a jumper wire from the battery and bypass the solenoid, and energize the starter,

It all depends on your mechanical ability, and access to the starter.

if you dont feel confident, dont stab around at your engine with a live wire
