Jag S Type won't start,alarm sounds lights flash fault messages

the problem you have is caused by the pats anti theft system is not recognising your key it may be the transponder or you may need a new key and get it programmed by a jag dealer or someone with the needed gear to do it with best advise take it to a jag dealer

Replace the battery in the remote.

Try unplugging battery for 15 minutes to reset immob then retry.

Sorry dude but it sounds like the wiring in your "JAG" has a severe leaking problem. Maybe handwash?

lubricate where your key goes to start car.if it fixes it then your ignition switch might be going bad.

jaguar x-type 2ltr diesel 2004 the glow plug warning light flashing, was told dirty fuel on fault code all fuel changed and filters. No problems for 20 miles untill engine was put under power on high revs went into limp mode, warning light glow plug falshing again? any ideas thanks.

Jags use a car immobizer system to prevent theft. look in your owners manual to find actions you must take next. Keys shouldnt need reprogrammed, but Im not sure with a Jag

Is the car alarming when opened on the fob? If so you have a control module fault. Try opening the car with the key. as soon as you unlock the door, open it and insert the key in the ignition - this should bypass the remote control. If you still have problems with this method - you will have to take it for repair/replace.

This does not sound like a fob fault - but a locking control module fault , either in the hardware or software of the unit. Get it checked at a Jaguar dealers. When unlocking using the key - as soon as the door is opened you should hear a chime sounding inside the car - this is a timer counting down to sounding the alarm. If you put your key in the ignition as soon as you open the door the alarm should not go off and the chime should stop. If it does not this again points to a fault in the locking controller.
