The air con stopped working some time ago and I was told it needed topping up (didnt get it done) then my interior blower fan became slower over a period of weeks and has now stopped even on the highest setting. The fuses look ok , I have removed the glove compartment but not sure how to get access to the fan to check the wiring. I suspect that the brushes are worn on the fan and it probably needs removing for repair or replacement.
I have been told by the Honda dealer that the air con not working shouldnt have caused the fan to stop.
They are right the air conditioner has nothing to do with the fan running .. your air conditioner is operated by a pressure switch .when it gets low on freon it will not come on, which saves your compressor. your fan only blows the cold air the air conditioner puts in to the coils located inside your dash. which the blower then blows the air into the car.. now you are on the right track look some more you will find the round motor under that dash near the glove box and its held in there with usually 4 small bolts. and removal is easy if you can locate it.. one wire and 4 small bolts and out it comes .. you should be able to get one at a local parts store ..
Same problem but can't get at the bolts- My fan housing just makes a noise probably from
hitting something.I can't locate the bolt holes with my fingers and can't get the glove compartment out . Its hanging by the wires and one bolt I think.
Do I neeed a lift - can someone show me where to locate the lower glove compartment
screws if it nees to come pout
thx
