I lost the key for my 2001 ford focus trunk and the button in my dashboard does not work, I ha no owners manuel for this car and i was also woundering if you can acces the trunk from the inside ...... also where do i add freeon for the air conditioner .... thanks
You can access it thru trunk.Just lower seat and inside trunk you will see a yellow T handle.Pull T handle to open trunk.
You would add freon at the suction accumulator which you have to remove the left front wheel then remove the fender liner and it is behind this.
Is this a coupe,3 door, or 4 door sedan?
Here is your problem. The trunk release is controlled by the security module, the release button's function is to send a ground signal to the security module then it sends a signal to the trunk release solenoid. The key has to be in the on postion for this to work.
If this is a coupe(2dr) or a 3 door then the seat release is a button beside the head rest. If this is a 4 door then the seat release handles are in the trunk. So if this is a 4 door you are out of luck.
I was looking at the wiring schematic and I am not sure if this will work but you can try it. Take a jumper wire and put power to fuse 63 (20amp) fuse in the interior fuse panel. This may power up the security module and then press the trunk release button.
I looked at it again just to make sure that it was not a typo and it is fuse 63.I looked at pic of the fuse panel and it does not show a fuse 63. I thought maybe it was a miss print so I looked at an 02 model and it shows the same thing. So I looked at copy of owners manual and there it states that this fuse is located on the backside of the fuse panel. I tried to find a pic for you but I could not find one.
