I have a Toyota Tacoma I just bought from a guy cause it died and wouldn't start. All I know is he was driving it in the rain and hit a big puddle (a month ago) and it died. It has not started since. I'm thinking it is the maf sensor but it it very expensive to just replace and hope it fixes the starting problem. Is there any way to check the maf sensor with a voltmeter? Or jumper bypass it? I've checked all relays and have manualy powered the fuel pump to get gas to the engine and still no start. I got and replaced the circuit opening relay still nothing. Please help!!
97 tacoma 2.4 no power to fuel pump. all fuses good, does this truck have a fuel safty switch and if so where did they hide it?
Thanks
Are you sure that no water got into the tank? Or into the catalytic converter? I have had alot of cars do this cause I off road all the time. Usually what happens is your intake sucks air into the throttle body and from there your are done tell you drain the oil, change tranny fluid and drain the gas or put a water absorber it in.
