1995 Lexus LS400. Car was left in garage for two weeks while we were on vacation. Upon return it won't start. Engine does turn over. Replaced fuel pump in attempt to troubleshoot. Mechanic ha

Won't start, replaced fuel pump. Mechanic is ready to give up!

All fuses and relays bench test as fine. Will check your suggestion of security system glitch or key switch.

I assume the pump was replaced because it was getting power but no fuel pressure ?
Are you still not getting fuel pressure ?
Spark to the plugs ?
Normal compression when cranking the engine ?
Security light not staying on ?

Original fuel pump bench tested fine. While we had everything apart replaced it simply due to age. No fuel to injector pump and no spark. All relays and fuses have been double checked. My mechanic says no power to computer. Battery is fine. Mechanic has consulted Lexus mechanic in Charlotte, NC and had completed all checks that Lexus mechanic suggested. Please explain your question about security light. Thank you for your reply.

I would think the car has a factory installed security system which would disable the engine if the wrong key is used. Something could have happened to that system. Also, has anyone checked the fuse and circuits that are dead to find out why ? Could be something in the key switch too.

I had a similar experience just the other day, i stopped to get gas and turned the car off and when attempting to turn the car back on nothing would happen. Well, let me rephrase the lights inside and out would work as well as the ac and the radio. My initial train of thought was maybe it was the battery so i went and purchased a new battery which was around $100, I installed the new battery and the car still wouldn't start. Does your car make a clicking noise when you turn the inginition key or is it just silent? If it is silent, you might want to check to see if your starter has burned out. Luckly a friend of a friend does his own mechanical work and was able to remove and replace the starter for me. After the starter was replaced the car started right up and ran perfectly. Not sure where u live but in my area a starter ranges in price from $100-200, but they also charge a core fee ranging from $45+, which can be reimbursed if you bring in your old starter to the store. I would suggest getting a starter with a lifetime warranty as well, but thats just a suggestion.

SOURCE: replaced fuel pump and fuel pump computer still will not start

did you check for fire at the the spark plugs.

1994 Lexus ls400 replaced powersteering pump and won't shift out of park, no instrument lights no power windows, no power door locks, no power trunk release

Sounds like a major fuse blown.
Any wiring disconnected or stripped near the pump ?
Have you checked the major fuses around the battery and underhood fuse box ?

My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica automatically dies as soon as I shut the car off, but will start once jumped, it has a new battery....what is the problem?

Can be loose battery connection,or weak starter motor/solenoid.Sometimes new battery even comes weak/faulty.Get the battery bench tested at local car garage.
