Hard to start when its cold
Starting a cold engine takes more gas than starting a warmed engine, so the ecu should be compensating if it is sensing a cold engine.
First check fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure from a tired, weak pump, or from a bad fuel filter is a common reason for hard starting. If pressure is as specified, check the air filter and the condition of the intake throttle body-if the inside is sooty looking, clean it with intake cleaner till you get all the deposits out. If that doesn\'t help, check, test, or replace the sensors that are telling the ecu that engine is cold-the Electronic Coolant Temperature Sensor and the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. If those are good, you may need to clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor (on the big boot to the throttle body ass\'y) with some MAF cleaner, or a suitable sensor-safe cleaner.
