1999 Cadillac Deville wiper blade on driver side not moving

When I turn on the wipers after a recent heavy snow fall, the passenger side wiper blade moves fine but the driver side wiper blade barely moves and it stops hitting the other wiper blade. What could it be? the fuse? the motor? im not sure

SOURCE: I have a 1999 Cadillac deville wipers spotted working.

hi this sounds like the linkage has either snapped or has simply come off the ball joint if you can still hear your wiper motor running this will be it, they are a bit awkward to get to but normally a simple repair. lift your hood ( sorry ime from uk excues me for wrong use of parts lol) and look near windscreen area where the wipers are . look into the gaps vent gaps you will see the linkage put wipers on and see if there is any movment in there, if not then it will be that...hope this sorta helps

SOURCE: After the recent snow, my wipers will not move.

hi, not out of sync, but it might be the linkage that connects to them has either broke or popped off the ball joint, it could be just a case of pushing it back onto the joint or, if the plastic insert has broken then it will have to be replaced, you can check it out by looking where the vents are along the top of the hood ( near screen end ) putting wipers on and seeing if the linkage is rotating if not then they have come off from the motor itself, it will be awkward to get to, to repair though..hope this helps

I moved my windsheild wiper arms to remove the snow. now the driver side windsheild wiper keeps going off the wind sheild

Where is the blade when switch is off? Some of the GM cars in the 2000 years had problems with the post where the wiper arm attaches. The post will strip the groves when trying to move heavy snow. You will have to remove the arm, and reinstall it when the wiper switch is off.

Passenger Side Windshield Wiper Broken

Hi Jill,
The first thing to check is a 13mm nut that holds the wiper arm in place.See if you can move the wiper arm freely back and forth. There is a nut at the base of that wiper arm,Lift up a cover that is hiding the nut. If it comes loose from being froze from ice or snow. Put the wiper in its rest position and tighten the nut back up.

You will need to find where in the linkage the problem is. I would start taking it apart to see what is and what isn't working correctly. Autozone website has free repair manuals available online.

After a heavy snowfall, I turned on the windshield wipers and now they don't work.Yes I had heavy snow on the windshield

Check for a blown fuse. With the heavy snow, the blades probably were prevented from moving which would have caused the wiper motor to overheat and blow a fuse.

04 dodge ram 1500 wiper arm goes down before going up

remove wiper arms at the shaft, right at the cowl. each will have a nut on them but it is covered by a piece of plastic that will snap up for access. take nuts off and remove wiper assembly. turn key on turn wipers on make sure shafts turn when on, then turn off the shafts to stop in park position. then reinstall wiper assemblies in their park position .
