1999 saab 9-3 driver's side door will not lock

1. Try locking and unlocking of the doors five times with the remote to reset the immobilizer.

2. Key in ON position push Open button on key fob.

go to police or lock smith and either can unlock door but you still need to fix door lock maybe locksmith can fix.or dealer.

first check all fuses & then make sure you are geting 12v power to & thru the switchs & down to the window motors if knot you may have a broken wire where the door hinges. at the main wires were it comes thru the door

Check for a bad switch in the door.
Water leaking from the rag top-door seal joint often drains into the switch, causing a short or bad contact eventually.

CHECK FUSES FOR POWER WINDOW,CHECK FUSE FOR POWER MIRROR AND CHECK FUSE FOR POWER DOOR LOCK.IF FUSE OKAY DOOR CONTROL MODULE FAULTY ITSELF.

Close any open doors, and lock them all from the driver's door. You should hear the other doors locking when you turn the key in the driver's door. Check the other doors to make sure the lock indicators are in the "Locked" position.

Wait at least 15 seconds. Then, unlock the driver's door with the key. This should disable the alarm.

3 Take your car to the Saab dealership if the alarm engages even with the car unlocked. That likely means there is a contact inside the lock on the driver door that is faulty.

6- Insert key into ignition
7- Close the door
8- Turn ignition switch from "LOCK" to "ON" & back to "LOCK"

you need to spend some time triing the best you can to get the top of the door panel open a bit to see what is broken inside, most likely a clip.The other thing to try is a slim jim to get the door open then repair the door lock.

is the lock mechanism siezed,or is the linkage disconected?
