02 GMC Sierra Denali Radio

As stated I have an 02 GMC Sierra Denali without Bose radio. When purchased there was no sound coming out of the radio. The head unit was not in lock because I could seek to different stations. When I put a Bose head unit in the pickup, there was sound coming out of the speakers but only the highs. No mids or lows. So I purchased an aftermarket head unit and installed it. Just like the non Bose headunit, there is still no sound coming out of the speakers. I did go to my nearest GM dealer and gave them me VIN number and they did comfirm that the truck does not have a Bose radio installed in it at the factory and that there is no external factory amp. If nobody has an answer to what is going on, this weekend I will be tackling the job of rewiring the speakers to the after market head unit. The aftermarket headunit is an Eclipse from Crutchfield.com. Crutchfield did state that the headunit would fit my vehicle and it does.

Yea I am going to try to get a wiring diagram for the radio from the dealer to see what is going on. But you are right Jerry at least I will know it is done right if I do it myself. Thanks for the input.

2004 GMC Sierra Bose Radio Not Working How To

1. Body ground problems
2. Need to make a voltage drop on each grounds in the entire truck or unplug each one of them clean with a file(not sandpaper it leaves residue) and add a star washer.
Explanation; Radio waves are very sensitive. The grounds kill the over waves or what they call parasite waves. By cleaning the grounds it will help to kill the noise wave. Or install a noise suppressor on the + wire of the radio.

Hope it helps

I purchased a after market cd player for my 2003 denali and it won't produce any sound

You may have a stock amplfier in that truck that wont jive with the new radio, check with radio manufacturer or vendor where you got the radio.

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 and it has a factory CD/Radio Bose system. The radio works fine but can't get the CD player to work, it won't eject or load a CD. I recently had an ignition fusible link prob...

you might have to take it to the dealership to have the radio reprogramed. it should only cost 40 bucks. these radios are very tempermental and have a mind of their own sometimes. My profesional recomendation would be to have an aftermarket cd player in. they are much nicer and have way better quality than the factory radio's
