The Driver door works fine, but upon closing the door against the Truck it no longer is a snug fit; while driving on the road you hear the outside traffic and the door bangs against the truck when going over bumps. The doors locking mechanism works fine but the mental piece that sticks out from the Trucks frame that allows the lock in the door to lock is missing the plastic covering.

The electric motor that pulls the lock button up and down has failed, you will need to pull the door panel to replace it. Yes it is fairly common.

There is a recall on this exact problem. I would contact your Ford Dealer. I recently was advised of the recall when I called Ford.

Mine did this. I went around to each door and sprayed a liberal amount of WD-40 in the latch, then open and closed each door about five times. It hasn't done it since. I think the switch inside was not moving freely.
