The check engine light - service engine soon - MIL light etc.... When flashing indicates
The check engine light comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. A flashing check engine light is an indication of a severe misfire or problem that is likely to harm the catalytic converters .
Without testing we'd only be guessing as to what the problem is . Do you know how to test fuel injector electrical circuit , cylinder balance testing - checking fuel injector flow ? Cylinder compression testing .
Pull the plug wire off # 4 spark plug an hold it near ground an have someone start the car , do you see a good spark ? Not ignition system problem . fuel delivery or engine mechanical problem .
Time to do a compression and cylinder leakdown test

gm has a problem with this from way back. double check your spark plugs and if they are not ac delcos, change them. ive seen this time and time again swearing, myself, that there is no way that the plugs would cause this issue. it always comes up with random misfire and usually another 1 or 2 codes misfire codes. put in ac delco, no more codes. let me know

After replacing the coil, plug and wire. The injector is working properly so I would say that you have a burnt exhaust valve. Get a cylinder leak down test or compression test to confirm this at a reputable mechanic.
