Usually a slipping clutch is a bad clutch
the acid test is to remove the slave
point car in safe direction ,
start car in gear, does it slip now?
yes, then the clutch is bad.
you do this test off road safely..
it can only be 2 things, think about it.
1: bad clutch 99%
2; a seized ,while extended slave.

SOURCE: where do I add tranmission fluid on a 96 geo prizm

If you do not see a dip stick then you will have to look under the car, it will be a 17mm inset nut, have the car running in N when putting the fluid in

SOURCE: i replaced the master cylinder on my car e now i

ok sometimes a cylinder can be turned try this open bleeder cap on front left side then slam on the brake pedal as hard and fast as you can this will sometimes turn it back the right way. if brake fuild comes fling out it worked. when you bleed then use a hose to go on the end of the cap and the other end in a bottle of brake fuild so it cant get air back in the line. good luck

96 geo prism lsi manual tranny 1.6 liter will only move a little rpm rev high little torque

check the clutch operation
if cable it is a faulty clutch cable and needs replacing
if hydraulic it will be the clutch master cylinder and needs replacing
if they are both new items then the clutch needs to come out as it could be oil on the clutch plate making it slip

94 toyota truck clutch does nothing and gear shifter is stuck won't move at all.

Sounds like your clutch slave cylinder is bad,it's bolted on the side of the transmission with a hydraulic hose connected to it,2 bolts hold it on,need to drain fluid first. Here's a Autozone repair guide on replacing your clutch slave cylinder, first check your clutch fluid reservoir,if low or empty, then it's the slave cylinder.it's located in the right corner under the hood,it uses brake fluid.if your broke down, you can add fluid and bleed it and it will work for awhile, mine went out at work one day, just added brake fluid and bled it and made it home. 1991 Prizm. When I release clutch in first, why doesn't it go?

1991 Prizm (aka, Corolla) dead clutch (aka SLIPS)
does engine crank and start in gear? in gear?
the first thing to check is the clutch pedal actuation system.
cable on some , and Hydraulic on othere
open hood, see that MC for clutch, is the Reservoir dry?
yes, no?
yes, then the slave or mc is bad or both, the one leaking is bad.
Most cases Hydra clutches can not cause slip. (rare)
its a cable, can if cable frays inside or rust, (big time common)
well all cable clutches need service, if not it fails.
called setting free play in the book, FSM book
I love the above post where he guesses then sets a price.
first is diagnosis prices last and varies all over planet earth
and is useless here. prices. always.
Ill look in Michell's for you.
it's not a cable system,
Mitchells shows, hydra. clutch
so unbolt the slave.(on bell)
start car in gear, does car move. yes /no?
yes, clutch ok , and slave is siezed.
no, then clutch is bad (inside bell housing) $$$$$

i posted both ways, as these era cars run to clutch systems.
that could even change mid year, production.

S= slave
Bell = bell housing
L = clutch lever.
see the 2 bolts?
some Slaves can seize (due to running old fluid full of water)
Dot3 fluid is hydrascopic and needs service every 2 years. min.
26082435-4gmiw4kjhjrck3uewcae1lzo-4-0.jpg we check the MC and all parts related here.
to see if the L lever is stuck to the right above.
never condemn any clutch until these checks are done
or go broke fast. IMO

I put a slave cylinder in my 97 mazda but the clutch will still not disengage but it moves the fingers on the clutch

Clutch disk could be in backwards.
Slave cylinder may have an adjustment that needs to be extended.
Pilot bearing could be bad and keeps the pilot shaft spinning. (simulates clutch not disengaging)
Pivot pin of the throw out arm could be worn down.

Broken clutch pedal replaced and no stuck

replace the master cylinder as there are burrs and grooves in the cylinder that is jamming the piston movement.
