You have a 40amp fuse for the key switch, and the main component on the 80amp circuit is the alternator.
I would disconnect the alternator, hook up the battery without the fuse, and use a test light across the 80amp fuse terminals to see if the short has been removed.

SOURCE: ac fuse keeps blowing

Take the car for a scan it is ob2 compliant.

there must be a fault in the fuse and relays.

SOURCE: blows gas fuse after driving repeatedly.

check in your owners manual under fuses,15 amp seems low for a fuel pump,i would think it should be at least 25amp,it will tell you what fuse feeds what and what fuse should be there

Those vehicles use an integrated power management module that holds that relay and several other parts and they can go bad. You have to replace the whole thing.

Take a look in your manual. It will tell you what fuse that slot is for. It is possible that the wrong fuse amperage is being used. You vehicle manual will have a fuse chart. It's like a map that tells you what each slot is fusing, and what fuse to use. If the correct fuse has been replaced over and over, it could be a loose wire or a bad component on the other side of the circuit.

Hook battery cables up wrong wont crank

Depending on the type car you have, the main fuse is located in different places. It usually on the positive battery cable at the battery, or in the fuse box found under the hood. It’s a max type fuse high rating like 60 amp. When this fuse is blown the starter will not turn/crank.

Hook up battery backwards now can't start did I blow a fuse

Could not find a main fuse in the diagrams I looked at. I would take a test light and go through the underhood fuse blocks and see if they are blown.

My 1987 Camry Alt Fuse Keeps Blowing. Brand New Alternator Brand New Battery . As Soon As I Change The 80 amp Fusible Link And Reconnect The Battery It Blows Immediately

I suggest to check if you have oil leaking onto your alternator or did you recently replace the alternator? Keep in mind that the voltage regulator is built into the alternator on vehicles and I have seen oil leaks internally short the alternator or poor quality aftermarket parts.

Also check ground and wires broke or in short.

I have a 2001 BMW 740i and everytime we install the main fuse and turn the key it blows. We looked for shorts or loose wires and found nothing.

Could be grounding out at the starter (bad starter solenoid) Unhook the POS. (large red wire) at the starter and try turning key, see if it blows again. If not, replace starter. I assume you have the battery polarity hooked up correctly? (Red cable to POS on battery, black cable to NEG) Other than that, I would keep looking for a dead short somewhere. Mike

Battery dead?

something big happened to blow a 120 amp fuse. The vehicle needs some time at a good shop.
