1999 Volvo S80 2.8 Turbo Timing Over advanced

I am wondering if it is possible to manually correct an over advanced cam on a Volvo S80. I have done work on it before I know that the Cam position sensor is reading that one of the cams is over advanced. Any help??

Both cams marks should line up with the notches on the top cover while the mark inside the crankshaft pulley (which must be removed) line up at TDC

Either replace the cam position sensor or adjust cam position if incorrect.

How to replace the water pump in my '99 Volvo S80non turbo engine?

You take the timing belt cover off (10 mm bolt and two side clips after the top cover is removed) and the water pump is just under the left cam sprocket. Your best shot is to do a complete timing belt kit (the water pump comes with the kit).

1999 volvo s70 timing camshafts

really need to know what engine is fitted, but assuming its a 2.0ltr turbo with engine B5204T3. Looking at the cam pulley's with crankshaft markings aligned ( 12'o'clock position ) with No1 cylinder on TDC, on the outer circumference of both cam pulleys you should find a small groove these should be at 12 o'clock and align with a small cut out on the plastic cowling behind pulleys, hope that's clear enough, cheers

Diagram timing belt for car 1999 volvo S70

You need special tools to do this, you need a Cam Lock/Crank Lock set and a Pulley Block to hold the Variable Exhaust Cam Timing. Do not attempt to do this with out those tools. I have done it but it was 5 times the work and there is no guarantee of getting that Variable timing correct.

99 Volvo S80 water pump replacement

if this helps.. I had the 1998 model S70. the water pump was driven by the timing belt. you had to take the timing belt off just to replace the water pump. it was just a simple bolt on replacement. the only difficult issue is resetting the hydraulic tensioner on the timing belt. the hydraulic tensioner has to be completely taken off and compressed VERY SLOWLY in a vise. then insert a very hard drill bit or (special volvo tool) into a keeper hole, reinstall hydraulic tensioner onto car and reinstall timing belt.very quickly remove drill bit from keeper hole in tensioner and the tensioner snaps back out to put tension on belt. and you are done.

Volvo V 70 TD Auto 1999 year

Go to www.FCPgroton.com and enter your make and year, then check under timing components. They sale a few different kits for this job. I would recommend doing the timimg belt, idler pulley, tensioner, water pump at serpentine belt at a minimum. you can check and see if you need to do the cam seals also one of their kits includes all these. I would only do those if they were leaking.
