2000 gmc jimmy stalls when gas tank is on half or less

This jimmy stalls on highway, city streets, anywhere, when the gas gage is at one half or less. Put gas in and it's good to go. I have little money and can only keep gas tank full unless a reasonable fix is found. Thanks everyone!

I had a problem just like that and what it was is that there is a fuel pick up on the fuel pump inside the gas tank. This came off the pump at some point and when it did the engine would stall out when ever I turned left or when I was on the breaks coming to a stop light, and this only happened if I had less than about 6 gallons of gas. I removed the tank and pulled out the pump and found the problem, I replaced it and have not had a problem since. Just to let you know the car was a 1992 Acura Vigor, but it sound like the same problem. I hope this helps.
