time for a new or rebuilt transmission. this is done at a transmission shop. on a car that old you better stay with a rebuilt as a new one will cost more than the car is worth.
i have a brand new battery in a 1993 lexus es 300 the horn blows but lights will not come on neither will it start ive tried twisting the wires and taping the starter still will not start.
Check transmission fluid level first.
If this is ok, then I would take it to the Lexus dealer to diagnose or fix the problem.
It could need a complete rebuild to alleviate this problem, which I know is expensive.
I would take it to a certified mechanic the motor is located under the seat and would be a risky job to do your self. hope this was helpful you have a great day.
