Location of auto trans dip stick on 91 Ford Tempo 4 cyl.

I can't seem to locate the dip stick for checking trans fluid levels on 1991 Ford Tempo , 4 cyl.,auto.

It's right next to the air filter and behind the radiator fan and to the right of the oil dipstick. The transmissions is black and the oils is yellow. If it's a manual, there's no dipstick there. If not check close to the forewall towards the back of the engine.

Get a funnel and pour tha fluid in the dip stick tube while the motor is running . Make saure its the transmission and not the oil dip stick . Most trans dip sticks are at the back of the motor

The trans that is in your Explorer does not have a dip stick. It has a fill/drain plug in the trans pan that is used to fill and check the fluid level in your trans.

If you look right behind the battery in front of the trany near the linkage for the shifter you should see a small dip stick near the bottom of the trany its very hard to see do too its location.

yes you add yout fluid through your dip stick. go to your auto parts store and get the auto trans fluid for fords, yes there are several different types, ford and chevy use two different types. just ask for the trans fluid for a ford auto trans
