there are many vacuum hoses,i dont know if this is a s10 or full size blazer, heres a diagram for the s 10 blazer with the 4.3 if this is not your engine let me know, but heres a diagram, just look over all the lines, hope this helps.

There is no vacuum going to the trans on an 88 half ton unless it was ordered with a 400 trans. the 700R4 did not use vacuum.

If by some rare chance you have a 400 all you have to do is run a vacuum line from the manifold. Use a vacuum tester. You want to tie into a line that go to 0 vacuum when you rev the engine up.

i would try putting a c-clamp on the vacuum actuator on the fenderwell and see if the 4wd engages. they go bad alot. Good Luck
