1991 buick park ave. after warm, headlights won't shut off

I'm thinking of buying a 1991 buick park ave. It has been sitting for 8 months without being driven. He went to jump start it today and drove it to put gas in it. It runs great, but after the car runs for about 5 to 10 minutes, the headlights won't turn off. they do fine in turning off and on until it warms up. I thought it may be in the relay switch.

I don't know I bought the car and the owner said that when you turn the lights off, the bell sounds to let you know that the lights were left on. I guess he bought the car used. What if the car had a remote installed in it. What would that cause?

There could be several reasons why the headlight will not turn off. First of all, does this car have Day Time Running Lights? Does/did the car have an alarm installed in it? Even a remote car starter?

It's probably a malfunctioning lighting control module .The daytime running lamps are controlled by the (LCM) also , by suppling B+ voltage through a resistor to the low beam headlamp circuit after the dimmer switch . Looking at a wiring diagram help's determine as to possible problem's . Not guessing ! Free wiring diagram here
http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model and engine size . Under system click on lighting ,then under subsystem click on headlamps . Click the search button then the blue link. If you look at the diagram you will see everything is connected to the (LCM) . Rather then replacing a bunch of parts ( that still may not fix it ) Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop.

SOURCE: 1997 buick park ave 4 door right front door handle

Order the exterior door handle AND the clip that attaches the rod to the exterior handle from your local dealership ( any part in the salvage yard will have at least as much wear as the one U are replacing ) Also order a can of touch up paint matching your car. After you have the parts and have painted the new exterior handle, roll down the window and remove the interior door panel. ( instructions have been posted at 'replace door lock buttom' ) Two nuts, one on each side, hold the broken handle in place and must be removed ( DON'T loose them ). Loosen the rod from the clip at the top to allow a bit more room, But take note on the way it is attached ( you will need to reattach the rod to new handle ) To install new mechanism put the new clip on the rod, carefully place the gasket and the new handle in place and install nuts to secure. Test the door handle and make sure it works. Reinstall interior door panel.

SOURCE: 1991 buick park ave. does it have a timing belt or

this car uses a timing chain, there is no set time interval to replace a timing chain, they last the life of the car in most cases.

Can't get headlights to work on 1991 Buick Park AVE Ultra. All parking lights work fine.

So you have tested nothing.
Headlights don't usually have relays, just a circuit breaker in the light switch.
As I suggested,no one knows your problem, you need to actually start to do something. Get to the light switch and do some testing with a meter. It is either working or it isn't. If it is good then you could use a wiring diagram to continue on,or have a shop do this for you.
