Hi,
This is something that will only get worse I'm afraid.
You really need another key made to the original spec. By this - I mean a key cut to code - not just copied, that includes the immobiliser unit.
You can get one from a Land Rover dealership, but will be cheaper from a good locksmiths that cut immobiliser keys to code + program the immobiliser chip.

Hi my landrover discover 300tdi keep losing power and then the engine check light come on ?

Check main battery leads also check connections (negative connections to chassis) also check main plug to ECU ( disconnect battery before plug removal) when plug is removed check that there is no corrosion on pins spray WD40 in socket and plug and put a little grease around rubber seal and carefully replace plug ( the grease will help seal plug against moisture and water) if all the connections are ok try wiggling loom around starter motor and main fuse board as you may have a broken wire wiggling loom may give you an idea of area loom may be damaged have ignition on and a helper in driving seat when wiggling so as they can tell you if ignition lights flash or go out
hope this helps

Car will start when it is warm, but refuses to crank when cold

post is good and clear, no engine size stated.>>>
can you jump start it?//
this simple check proves battery is good /bad or just discharged.
yes, jumps and runs. (ever clean the battery lugs ever?
if it jumps the battery is bad/or disharged, so charge it.
no, wont jump cold
bad starter. or funky key line.

1: i hot wire these starters,
cranks ok, good starter.

if key line is dead, well wiggle the key and wiggle the gear shifter.

if M/T wiggle the clutch.

Car would not start this morning ( clicking )so fitted a new starting motor ..car started first time but the reverted to the clicking on subsequent attempts to start the car ...battey fine etc ..advice...

Don't assume your battery is fine. Just because it measures 12-13 volts doesn't make it fine. You need to test it under load and see if it holds 12-13 volts under load. If you don't have the instruments to do that, try jump starting the car with cables connected to another running car. If it starts normally, your battery is bad. If it continues to "click", you have a dirty connection in the battery wire circuit. Remove, clean, and replace the terminal connections.

I have a 2002 landrover freelander. About every two months it will not start. It is not the battery as it turns over very strong. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and it will start. It is not flooded...

when it does it the next time take the key out every time you try to start it and it dosent start. It could be the ignition switch not the key. And if it starts sooner by removing key then you have an idea where to start.

Landrover discovery wont start but battery is good

This usually is the starter, especially if your truck has had an oil leak going for a while as the oil will run down into the starter and cause it to intermittenly fail. Also check your battery terminals and make sure you have a good connectivity.

1997 Landrover will not start, battery is good

Bad battery cable connections (loose/dirty). Starter (stuck/dead). Only going by what you wrote, could possibly be engine (seized). I hope not! Most likely it's bad cable connections. Best wishes. Hope that I helped.
