Snow got into my driver's side door controls for windows, gas tank release and trunk. 2 days later the trunk kept popping on its own. I turned the car off, popped the trunk with the key and with the door control and closed it. The next day the backlight in all of these switches won't turn off and now the trunk won't pop using the door control. All other switches seem to be working. Today the car won't start. Could those backlights be draining the battery? Is there a way to manually turn them off without disabling the fuel door and windows?
It is very possible for the lights to drain the battery. to the second question, if you were to unplug the switches, it should turn the lights off. along with this, no you wouldn't be able to use windows. you may have to replace the switch due to water damage.
The trunk and fuel releases are in a lower part of the door, if I unplug the window switches will it effect the fuel door. I don't mind not using the windows for now, it is snowy and terrible still, but I'm worried about not being able to get the fuel door open. Thanks for your quick reply!
it shoudnt, although the only way to know for sure would be to trace the wires down. i would suggest to unplug the switch, and before putting the door panel back together try using the fuel release switch to make sure.
Thanks so much! Will be trying this shortly.

SOURCE: Radiator fan stayed on and drained the battery, why?
I would venture to guess that, based on past experience, that the problem is more likely to be the thermo-switch in the radiator. Find what looks like a large plug in the lower part of the radiator it will have two electrical jacks. If you test this with a meter and there is continuity when cold, there lies the problem. If not then i would suspect a fused relay (pricier to buy). You would find it located just above the fuses... Hope this helps...;-)

The drivers door window switch probably needs replacing. The control units are built into the window motors.Best of luck.

I just fix the same problem :(
Two wires in harness were broke. Let me give you some instructions to fix this. 1- Remove the inside panel. then remove the conection that is in the middle betwen the door and the body of the car, is like black cover for the wires. In my case 2 of these wires were broke.
2- Remove the screws of the door in the frame then close the door and pull the door only a few inches just to have acces of your hand to pull the wires.
3- Add another piece of cable, to meke these cables longer, and put everything back.
