My 2001 VW Beetle started losing speed when I go up a hill, and when I try to excellerate, it bogs down worse and the check engine light flashes off and on.

you sound like your catylitic converter is trying to stop up. When this happens check and have someone race the engine and fill and see if you have a good flow of exhaust coming out of your tail pipe and see if it is real hot .A good way is if it happens at night look at yourn converter and see if its red from the converter to the engine thats a sure sign thats your converter is stopped up.If its not then if the light stays on go to an advance store or some other place and they wont charge you to check and tell you what the obd 2 code is and post that back and let me know what the code is .Hope This Helps

My Oil light has flashed at me & binged. How do I know what oil to put into the car?

If your oil is not low and your oil light is flashing I recomend you find someone who can do an oil pressure test, those vehicles have been known to clog up the oil pickup screen and starve the engine for oil. if your car has the 2.0 liter engine I recomend 5w 30 oil its good for all temp ranges.

VW Beetle bluet emperature light started flashing

Start with checking your coolant level( only use VW coolant if low). If full, change out your coolant temp sensor. Buy the one from the dealership. The others are ****.

2000 VW Beetle dies occasionally and won't start for a while

run a scan tool on it and make sure there are no codes, if there is codes address those problems first, if no codes.. next time it won't start check for fuel preasure. it is probably a fuel pump getting ready to go out or they may be a large amount of something other than gas clogging the pick-up sock at bottom of fuel pump.

I just purchased a 2000 VW Beetle 1.8 Turbo but, there was no Owner's Manual included with the car. A light has come on my dashboard and i don't know what it's for. It's a blue light in the shape of a...

If the light goes out after engine gets alittle warm, this is normal. Since there is no temp guage, VW uses this light to inform that the engine is cold. When that same light flashes red, it means that the coolant is low or the engine is overheating.
