Engine also stalls when turn signals or 4 way flashers are turned on.

Seems like a huge issue huh?! First have the battery checked 2. check all connections for corrosion around battery area. I'm assuming this just started? 3. if all other things check out good, have the charging system tested for no less than 13.5 volts with all accesories on. Replace the alternator as necessary. Let me know what you find and I'll be happy to continue to advise.

I had the same problem. After two days of troubleshooting I took it to my mechanic. It took him a week, tracing and thinking between other jobs, to find the solution: Running light relay module. Under the dash, not a ice cube relay, a module assembly. Part 94859202. I also has a bad ground on the jumper for the main wiring harness. $357.00 Hope this saves all of you some cash.

I have a1997 Chevy 1500 and I am wondering were is the flasher relay at.

Most cars the flasher relays are up under the dash not far from the steering column. I had several makes of cars and they all were up there.

No turning signals

Turn Signal Lamps
The turn signal lamps are made up of the front park/turn signal lamps and rear turn signal lamps. The front turn signal lamps flash with the rear turn signal lamps when a turn is initiated using the turn signal/multifunction lever. The turn signals will operate only with the ignition switch in the RUN position and will not operate during hazard flasher operation.
When the ignition is turned to the RUN position, battery voltage is supplied to the TURN SIGNAL, CORN LPS Fuse. Battery voltage is then applied through the TURN SIGNAL, CORN LPS fuse circuit to the hazard warning switch. The hazard switch supplies a turn signal flasher signal to the turn signal switch. With the turn signal switch in the LH or RH position the corresponding turn signal indicator, rear turn signal, and front turn signal receive the turn signal switch signal and will flash. The front turn signals receive the turn signal switch signal from the turn signal switch via the body control module (BCM) . The front turn lamps are grounded at G101. The rear turn lamps are grounded at G301 and G302.

  2. Place the turn signal switch in the LH and RH on position.

Check the TURN SIGNALS CORN LPS fuse for an open.
Is the TURN SIGNALS CORN LPS fuse open?

  1. Disconnect the hazard switch.
  2. Turn the ignition to the ON position, with the engine OFF.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the ignition positive 1 voltage circuit of the hazard switch and a good ground.
Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the ignition 1 positive supply voltage circuit of the hazard switch and the ground circuit of the hazard switch .

92 ACCORD what causes the gauges to quit working when the brake pedal is depressed, another problem is turning on the headlights and the engine dies any answer's ?

Hi Christopher:
I'd be checking to make sure that the grounds are nice and clean and working properly. When you step on the brake pedal you are activating a switch that sends power to the brake lights. The brake lights share bulbs with the signals and emergency flashers, so it is also possible that a dead short in any of those components could "steal" the power from the ignition.
At this point, it's a trouble shoot game for you to figure out what is working, and what is not.

Engine stalls when turn on headlights

Electrical System Problems in '02 F250 Diesel

Does the truck have daytime driving lights ? Sounds like a short , maybe the switch inside the steering column . Turn signal , wiper , headlamp dimmer ,or multifuction switch . Without testing this is just a guess . Find a wiring diagram at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html there free , get yourself a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an test the B+ volt into an out of the switch . moving dimmer from low to high an turning on the turn signals etc.... Suggest you watch a few videos on youtube for automotive electrical testing , how to use a wiring diagram etc.... disconnect circuits at the mutifunction switch .

Measure the resistance between multifunction switch C202a pin 44, circuit 44 (LB), harness side, and electronic flasher connector pin 1, circuit 44 (LB), harness side; and between multifunction switch C202a pin 44, circuit 44 (LB), harness side, and ground.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the multifunction switch and the electronic flasher, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the multifunction switch and ground?

Carry out the multifunction switch component test; Refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 149 for schematic and connector information.

  • Is the multifunction switch OK?
Yes INSTALL a new electronic flasher. TEST the system for normal operation.

No INSTALL a new multifunction switch; REFER to Section 211-05 . TEST the system for normal operation.
Testing the electrical circuits of all the system not functioning properly is how you go about finding the problem .

  1. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

    • Headlamp bulb
  1. If the concern is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart.

  • Remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module (if equipped).

  • GO to Pinpoint Test F .
  • The high and low beam headlamp is inoperative on one side
  • Circuitry.
  • REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The flash-to-pass feature is inoperative
  • Multifunction switch.
  • CHECK circuit 196 (DB/OG) for an open. REPAIR if necessary. If OK, INSTALL a new multifunction switch; REFER to Section 211-05 . TEST the system for normal operation.
