That's not the compression building up, compression stays the same, no build up. What your problem is, the water is holding in the pump due to a faulty relief valve. With the water on the unit, there should be a light spray from the nozzle at all times. That means the relief valve is working and will not spray hard until you pull the trigger. If when you pull the trigger without the engine running a little spray them comes out, you'll then be able to start the engine.
Did it run good the last time you were on it?. It could be a number of things. Is the oil full, are you using the correct grade of oil? If the wrong oil is used let's say a heavy grade on cold start it could have worn the one way bearing there for seized . Make sure the fuel has no water or moisture in it because any water ect in the chamber will cause to much compression there for very hard to start. Remove the belt cover then belt to make sure it hasn't dropped a spring and check to make the clutch plates aren't stuck open if they are then when your trying to start it you'll be trying to to pull the motor and box so it'll be very hard to pull. It'll be a process of elimination, very time consuming.
most time there will be signs of pump going bad. like loud whinning noises or hard start like having to spinn engine over for long time before actually starting did u experience any problems like that which made you pay for fuel pump
not a happy story for you. The car will go into low cold only? and it will not go into low even pulling the gearshift all the way down? The clutch packs are ( welded) together and it's time for a full rebuild. If the builder doesn't find the reason for it to be in first and second at the same time ( valve body O rings leaking under hard pull) and fix it and test that it's fixed it'll do it again and maybe ( if driven hard ) real soon ( same day you start driving )
Could be your starter, sounds like your starter soloinoid(pulls starter gear into flywheel) might be defective. First it will not pull gear in, then if it sticks in your car could keep starting even if the key was turned off .
without looking at the car I could'nt say how hard it would be to change. It has been my observation that newer cars are much more difficult to change
Have new key cut, stop at hardware store and get liquid wrench spray ,spray lube in cylider, then put key in and out several times briskly before trying to turn.If this does not work open hood and pop shift cable of trans selector lever and reach down and move lever to neutral position two notches.then can tow.
