SOURCE: 1999 gmc van wont start

this has a coil , cap and rotor i would replace them and maybe your wires the reason it back fired is because it was getting fuel for a while before spark started happening .replace these and you will be fine you do have to take off the dog house though.

1992 GMC K1500 Starts then dies

I saw what you replaced, didn't see any testing? Any applicable trouble codes? Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, TBI--9--13 psi. As an example, 5 psi fuel pressure makes a nice looking injector spray pattern, but, 5 psi won't start and run a v8. My opinion.
Could be other issues.

Cant get no fire/replaced distributor /cap and roter replaced crank sensor and coil put wires and plugs { and still cant get fire to distributor} 1996 gmc/1500 5.7liter

if i understand u correctly u replaced the distributor and cap if so i would start with making sure my pick up coil was installed correctlyand or replace it.i also would look at the possibility of it being a powertrain control module or neutral safety switch if this vehicle is equipt with one. hope ive been helpful
