Heat/ac not working on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee has no heat or air conditioning at this time. It has the dual climate control. The problem started out with the passenger's side climate not heating. The problem then passed to the driver's side as well. At that time the blowers were still blowing but the air was cold. The air conditioner worked too. Then the air conditioner stopped working, no air blowing out at all. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side

The internal blend doors that control the heat/ac are most likely broken they work as a pair. one side usually fails first and then the other. a dealer will usually charge 1,200-1,500 to fix this check out the web site www.heatertreater.net for a kit that will repair the problem

The blend doors have nothing to do with the blower. Check the the blower motor and wiring.

You will have to check the flap operating controls behind the centre consol as anything could be wrong from a vacumn pipe to a operating mechanism ,even the computer controlling the climatic control .

You have a leak in your air conditioning compressor Your system works on the reheat principle All air passing through the system is cooled and reheated before it enters the cabin this sould be dehumidified air but it passes through the heater core and sence the air is not dehumidified you are getting condansation as the air flows the heater core that is heated by the engine heat and the water is from condencation because of the leak in the ac compressor The unit is a press fit in the center of it and fials unfortinatly a lot with this disgien of compressor

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.7 V8: Has dual

hi
there is no recall from jeep (there should be) your blend doors are damaged or broken. jeep will quote you around £800 to fix. log on to heatertreater.net they have a diy quick fix that will last the life of jeep. you can install the new blend doors that are metel (not stupid plastic ones jeep use) in around half an hour, this really does work as i have installed a few of these kits with no problems.
hope this helps

sounds like the clutch field on or bearing on the front of the compressor went bad take a closer look at the pulley on the comp. and see if there is any debris or melted plastic coming out behind the pulley,if so the clutch, field and bearing should be replaced, hope this helps

It could also be the rheostat that controls it. it's on the fan plenum under the dash. inserts into the plastic plenun.
