2001 checy Tahoe wont stay running for more then 10 seconds?

check coolant level and and fan operation

could be fuel pump or even crank or cam , timing sensor. Did it start running strange before this?

I would need more information to give you a good answer. I need to know how long will it stay running a few seconds an hour what is it. I had a 2000 blazer that would start fine everyday and i would 10 minutes and it died sometimes i drove an hour and it died. I parked it and everytime i started it would run about 10-15 minutes and die. after it would die i would check fuel pressure which was good and spark. Well turns out there's no spark so i changed coil ,plugs, wires, rotor. I finally changed the crankshaft positioning sensor and that tuned out to be the problem so good luck.

CAR NO START PROBLEMS:-----

It can be the issue with weak battery or faulty battery or if battery is ok,then its faulty starter causing the issue.

Sounds like the battery is bad. Have a parts house check it. That could solve your shifting problem

If the only problem is idle and it runs grat above ide then the most likely component is the Idle Air Control valve. This is providing you have no codes stored indicating something else.

the fuel filter is located down under the middle of the frame rail, on the drivers side,remove the lines from the filter, look out b/c some fuel will come out after diconecting the line. replace with the new filter make sure you get the "FLOW" "should be marked on the filter" pointing to the front of the car

I have a 2K1 Tahoe that was doing the same thing. It wouldn't idle properly and would die at stop lights. The check engine light would come on once in a while for a few seconds. I took it to a dealer and they removed and cleaned the soot like residue and other build up from the throttle body. That fixed the problem and I haven't had any problems since then. Hope this helps.

try fittung a larger capacity battery this will help when you are parked for extended periods of time, but it does sound as if you have something draining the battery, try getting the alternater checked
