1996 honda accord LX auto trans problem

I'm having a big problem with my 1996 honda accord LX auto trans.
When i put my car into the drive position and press lightly on the gas the car will not move.
When i press harder on the gas petal the rpm will go way pass the number 3 and the car will move just a little.

Looks like clutch disk is worn, but my car have auto transmission and I'm not sure what to do.

Yes..sir you must take your car to the nearst Honda Service Station and ask to the mechanic there to check the transmission and replace the clutch with new one. don't forget to check and maybe change all oil that have connected with your transmission. all work maybe take 1 or 2 days depend on the part that you need to change

My grandson has a 1997 honda accord, 4cyl, replaced auto tranny, now will operate only in first gear when placed in D4. reverse works ok. will not shift out of 1st gear. can u help. thanks

check the instillation of the transmission shift cable, it needs to be adjusted so that the pawl on the trans case has a full range of motion-put the shifter in neutral, and manually put the pawl in the neutral position (disconnect the cable0-then connect the cable again and bolt it into position.

Auto Trans 96

Sounds like radiator problem mixing coolant with oil. Will need to change rad, flush transmission thoroughly to remove contaminated fluid, being sure torque converter flushed as well, then re-assemble everything, & put new fluid & filter in transmission, and hope like heck, too much damage hasn't already occurred. This might be a job for a tranny shop that can flush that system properly, if you have one in area that you trust.

Have a 1995 honda accord lx seller says that when you put it in drive (d-4 on the instrument panel) the light starts to blink . Do you think this is a transmisson problem. It was taken to transmission...

Toyota shares the same problem. when the light blinks it means the overdrive feature in the trans is malfunctioning. Sooner or later it will lead to bigger trans problems. Accords are well known for trans problems.
