The phones are no longer availabe (8-10 years) And you would not be able to get it hooked up anyway because originally it was an analog phone system and we are all digital now.

Car won"t accelerate over 30 mi/hr, gas pedal pushes back on foot, if a bump is hit the car drives as normal

when you say turbo has someone fitted a aftermarket turbocharger ?or is it a xjr with supercharger? what model is it ? xj40 or x300, the only connection with the throttle pedal I can think of is the cruise control or the gearbox kickdown cable. all the xj40,s had a kick down cable, the 3.2 x300, also. the 4.0l x300 was electronic. start by checking the throttle cable, pedal, and throttle body. if it has a kick down cable try car with cable disconnected.this sounds a strange one, love to drive it have been a jag tech for 40 years

Timing chain adjuster

I'm not sure what model your Jag is but, for the XL8+ there is a TSB/Recalls (Technical Service Bulletin) for:
NOISE DURING START UP - INSTALL REVISED TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS:
Some vehicles within the above VIN range may experience a rattling noise when the engine is started. This noise may be caused by the secondary timing chain tensioners. Research has shown that a noise can originate at the chain tensioners to cause a resonance in another part of the engine.
A revised, spring assisted, secondary timing chain tensioner has been introduced to eliminate this concern, commencing at engine No. 98102106XX. Introductory VINs are not yet available. In case of a customer complaint, the revised tensioners may be installed on earlier V8 engines.
But then again, I'm not sure exactly of your model, if you get back to me with the exact model, I can check for any TSB/Recalls for you :)

My boot will not open on my XJ40. The latch

If you don't have the trunk key, use the trunk release button in the glove compartment. If you do have the key, you must turn it all the way to the left and then press the button. It should open then. Turn it back to midway and it will stay unlocked.
