I just put a 96 360 into my truck that had a 318. the only thigs i noticed on my swap was I had to use the 360 flex plate ans a few plug ends were different than on the 97 model. tps, map sensor.

I found that 1991 through 1996 Dakota are the 1st Gen Facelift. According to Autozone the 1993 and 1996 are the same engines. If you call your local junk yard they have a 100% accurate answer.

No the bell housing is different on the transmission whether it is a stick shift are automatic trans, Chevy and Dodge will not interchange unless you use a Chevy transmission as well . So don't waste your time just rebuild the Dodge 230.

Hollander interchange
The difference would be in the housing that mounts the trans. to the engine. You should be able to remove from the old trans, and put it on the new one.....Before you go through the trouble make sure that the connections on the trans. linkage and the hookups are the same....

Unfortunate all that is available for transmissions for the 1995 and 1996 aurora are the 1995 and 1996 year! The transmissions fron any other year are not compatible or interchangable on the 95-96 years!

A604 solenoid pack interchangability
If I remember right the 2000 solenoid pack is slightly different than the '96. I've only seen that happen myself once. I just called my local bone yard and got a solenoid pack from the same year of trans. and did it that way.
