You have front wheel drive & CV Joints,
not U-Joints ,is that not correct

CV Drive Axles in front wheel drive vehicles
are just replaced as a complete axle assy

Rattling noise from the dashbody

The noise could be due to worn universal joint on drive shaft. Could be going bad. Slowly starts as a rattle with a little vibration and over time it gets worse. If there's no propeller type drive shaft, running down the center under the car, then it is something else

Rear drive shaft came off need to fix how?

The answer to this depends on exactly what happened. Typically a universal joint fails and drivers fail to get it repaired. This situation is a ROLL OVER danger, if the shaft were to fall out from the front.
Were you getting any vibrations, or squeaks lately? If the shaft has ANY damages it must be replaced as it will be out of balance and no longer true.

  • Lift the rear end of the Explorer with a floor jack. Place jack stands underneath the rear axle, by the leaf spring perches and lower the Explorer onto the stands. Pull the floor jack out of the way. mark both ends of the shaft for reinstalation.

  • 2

Crawl under the rear end and unbolt the universal joint retaining straps from the rear differential yoke.

  • 3

Pull the drive shaft and universal joint away from the rear differential yoke by hand.

  • 4

Remove the retaining rings that hold the universal joint into the drive shaft with needle-nose pliers.

  • 5

Support the end of the drive shaft on a jack stand and place the socket extension against the universal joint cap in the drive shaft yoke. Tap the socket extension with the dead blow hammer until the universal joint cap comes out of the yoke.

  • 6

Clean the sockets in the drive shaft yoke with the tip of a pocket screwdriver to remove any built up road dirt or other gunk.

  • 7

Remove two of the caps from the opposite ends of the replacement universal joint. Be careful to keep the bearings in the caps.

  • 8

Position the replacement universal joint in the drive shaft yoke and put the cap on the outside. Use the socket extension and dead blow hammer to tap the cap through the yoke far enough to expose the retaining ring groove. Put the retaining ring on that side with the needle-nose pliers. Repeat this for the other cap.

  • 9

Move the drive shaft back up to the differential yoke, line up the new universal joint with the differential yoke and reinstall the universal joint retaining straps with the wrench. Lower the rear end off the jack stands with the floor jack.

it could be a "U-joint" in the driveshaft, a bad tire on the drive axle,a harmonic balancer on the front of the engine

Rattling sound in drive shaft for 2003 GMC Sierra

Not sure what  you mean by rattling. If it is your drive shaft it could only be a worn U joint os just change the front and rear U joint unless you bent the drive shaft, but the shop should be able to tell you. The only other thing that would rattle under the truck would be the heat sheild for the Catalytic converter and muffler. Good luck and hope this helps

1990 Ford Bronco makes noise when changing gears?

sounds like you have a universal joint issue.(the joints that attach the drive shaft at the transmission and the rear axle.) You are right in not driving it as the drive shaft could fall out. However if this noise just started to occur you should be able to drive it a short distance to a mechanic and save the tow cost. I personally have driven (although carefully) for several weeks before i was able to change a universal joint. There are also some other possibilities of things it could be so I would suggest you take it to a trusted pro to have it diagnosed.
    hope this helps!
