Check the connector wire for continuity on the low end side with a good OHM meter. You probably have a broken wire connection but can't see it due to insulation. See if you have voltage on the low end side of the plug. No voltage, no light. Probe the wire and find where the current stops. Also make sure you don't have the ground reverse on the plug to the headlight. Before replacing it of course. Or you can cut all the wires and replace with a new connector.

You probably have a faulty sentinel switch. It's supposed to shut off, has a bult in elctronic timer. Does it even have the sentinel switch?

this is usually the headlight switch that causes this problem, burned connector to switch or contacts in switch or both.

I would check your headlight relay switch that is located in your steering colum

light switch is probably defective - more power is being used on hi-beams causing breakdown in switch - get replaced
