It is under the crankshaft pully..u have to remove the harmonic balancer and then u will see it..it has three little blocks on it .it is on the right hand side of the front of the block

Watch the check engine light while cranking. If it goes out while cranking, that's a sign the crankshaft position sensor is good. If it stays on, the sensor is bad. Known issue on these Fords. Stops working when hot.
Sorry can't help with specific model-related information but in the absence of a manufacturer's tdc mark using a dial gauge on the piston top is a reliable method.
Hi Rusty, There's two links below showing the position of 2005 Ford Explorer Crankshaft Position Sensor and the 2008 ford edge camshaft sensor location. It seems like they're all in the same position, I hope this helps.....CHEERS

It does not have an ignition control module. The PCM (powertrain control module) fires the coil pack based on signal it recieves from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
