Vehicle sat for one week..started it and it started to tap on pass side. Changed oil..tap went away, came back a couple days later. Marvel mystery oil..tap stopped, came back next day...on and off for a couple days then got loud. Changed passenger side lifters, timing chain tensioner, and guides. Found plastic from guide in oil pan, cleaned oil pump pickup screen. Checked oil pressure with manual gauge...75psi on start up. Is there something that would restrict oil from getting to passenger side head? I have changed everything I thought would cause the problem...I am not familiar with this engine to know about oil restrictors or any problems with this engine.
Are you absolutely certain the noise is lifter tap and not an exhaust leak? These are pretty well known for breaking exhaust manifold studs, or even cracking exhaust manifolds. The noise will be present on a cold engine but might go away as the engine heats up and the manifold expands. Maybe that's why it seems to go away after adding additives or changing the oil. It gets just enough heat in the engine to fool you in to thinking the issue was resolved by adding the oil/additive. Are you always adding to a cold engine?

it could be your tensioner. it sounds like a clicky squeak. sometimes it may go away but it always comes back. thats what mine is but i havent fixed it yet. i doubt you can grease it, you probably need it replaced. not expensive, at least the part should be under 100 bucks

white smoke sounds like either ingesting transmission fluid through a vacuum ,or a blown head gasket.those cars have coils and yes they go bad.you need to do a compression test and see if the head gasket is gone.low compression can also cause a misfire by not burning the fuel properly.

did you by chance had the oil filter changed because there is a antidrain back valve in the filter, also if the filter is plugging up it will bypass to line pressure.causing lower oil pressure.try the filter first then have oil pressure checked when cold and again when hot.

You have two pumps,I guess you know that ,if you already did one. Did you check fuel pressure at the rail and check out the electronic pressure regulator? What codes are coming up and do they stay set?
