hold down the number 6 button on your radio for a few seconds and were it is showing the number 10 on the screen this should change to number 11 you now have three atempts to enter your correct radio code
Apparently the wrong code has been entered too many times and it has gone into theft protect mode. Given time it should go back into input mode allowing you to try to enter a code once again.
When this happens, with some radio's you have to leave the radio switched on (without trying to input anything) for about 30 minutes.
The screen swops from saying 'Lock' back to 'enter code', then enter correct code, failing that it will have to be reset at a Dealer.
Radio is locked because someone entered the wrong code more than three times.
Radio must be left on for one hour before it will change to CODE. At which time you can enter your radio code .( Do not just leave ignition on...battery will be discharged inside the hour.)
You have three trys before it locks and says SAFE.
If it does not take the code you have you will need to call VW and ask them if they can obtain the code. However, VW demands that the owner must be present and have ownership papers for the can and a valid id.
If the listed code still is not taken by the radio, you need to pull the radio out ( Special tools required.) and record ALL the numbers you find on the radio chassis so VW dealer can pull up code for that radio.
Unlocking the Delco Radio Theft-Deterrent Feature After a Power Loss
If you know the code that was used to lock the radio then use the following instructions from the owner's manual to unlock the radio. Quote: Enter your secret code as follows; pause no more than 15 seconds between steps: 1. Turn the ignition on. LOC will appear on the display. 2. Press MIN and 000 will appear on the display. 3. Press MIN again until the last two digits agree with your code. 4. Press HR until the first one or two digits agree with your code. 5. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the code matches your secret code. The display will show SEC, indicating the radio is now operable and secure.
If you enter the wrong code eight times, INOP will appear on the display. You will have to wait an hour with the ignition on before you can try again. When you try again, you will only have three more chances (eight tries per chance) to enter the correct code before INOP appears. If you don't know the code that was used to lock the radio then you will have to use the dealer's unlock procedure as follows. The dealer code changes over time - the one listed is current as of this posting. If it doesn't work try 08359 or search the forum for messages with a more recent code. Quote: 1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first three digits of the display code are displayed. 2. Write the numbers down. 3. Press the AM-FM button, write down the next three numbers. 4. Call 1-800-537-5140. When asked, enter dealer code 202108, press the * button, and enter the six digit code from the radio. You will get an unlock code, write it down. 5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first two numbers, press the MIN button and set the next two numbers, then press the AM-FM button. The display will show SEC, indicating the radio is now operable and secure.
To remove the code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on the radio face indicating the code is now out of the radio."
If you enter the wrong code three times then the audio unit will lock. you'll have to disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes. Make sure its the right code and try again. If its a Navigation equipped system 03-07 Accord these audio codes are 4-digits. Make sure the tech performed the anti-theft code inquiry correct. I've also seen a preset button malfunction which won't register when pushed. -hope this helps.

The code number for the radio is advised to you on the enclosed CODE CARD.
To enter the first digit of the code number, you have to continue pressing station button 1 until the correct digit appears in the display. Adopt the same procedure for the second, third and fourth digits.
Once you have entered the correct code number with the station buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 and confirmed the entry with the SEEK button (press down), the readout CODE disappears. The radio can now be operated.
If you enter a wrong code three times, you must wait 15 minutes before making a new entry. In addition, if 9 incorrect entries are made, the radio will then not operate for 24 hours. During this time the radio and the ignition (terminal 15) must remain switched on.

Enter the code number with the station button, e.g. number 1, station button 1. After entering the first number the word "CODE" disappears and the number entered appears followed by 4 dashes. The next character to be entered flashes. After entering all five numbers, the first character starts flashing again. In this state the code number can be written over as frequently as desired. A correction can be made only by entering the complete code number again.
Confirm code number: Press TUNE, AUTO/SEEK or SC button. The radio automatically switches on and indicates the radio station or frequency stored with station button 1.
If an incorrect code number is entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears again on the display. If an incorrect code is entered three times the word "WAIT" appears on the display and the radio locks up for approx. 10 min. If the code is entered incorrectly three times again the radio locks up again for 10 min. Three more incorrect entries (a total of 9 incorrect attempts) increase the lock-up time to 60 min. Another three incorrect entries lock up the radio for another 60 min. The waiting time runs only when the radio is switched on.
