When its at -40 usually its because the ambient temp sensor is not sending the proper signal to the controller.. it may just be disconnected.. the sensor it behind the grille.. it has a 2 wire connector to it ... itf its connected it may havea broken wire from body damage in an accident... its rare that the sensor fails..

2001 town and country 3.8 will not heat

Start the engine and drive it for 10 to 20 minutes. Stop, leave the engine running, open the hood. Feel the upper hose and the lower hose. Are they both cool? What does the temp gauge show? If both hoses are cool and the temp gauge is low than the t-stat is most likely stuck open.

2001 Chrysler Town & Country getting 9.6 mpg

yes you need a new thermostat or there is low coolant. this will affect the mpg because your overheating and thats why its stalling. dont drive until you fix or you will blow your head gasket if it isnt blown already. change thermostate and check coolant.

Malfunction light stays on my 07 town and country. also the air quit cooling at same time. the outside air temp is reading -40. a couple of months back both low beams went out at same time.

Was the problem with the lights resolved or did you just replace the lamps. How is the charging system and the battery. Is it at 100%? I would have the codes read, it could be very helpful. A problem with the A/C can cause the MIL lamp to turn on. You can check your fuses to see if a fuse has blown.
